Day 13 – Arlington and Dallas (briefly)

(This is actually for Saturday, November 6, 2021)

Started the day with close to a six mile run. A little on the chilly side, but it was nice.

Had a nice visit with family today, as I have mentioned before, it’s been 20 years since I have seen Jesse’s family. It’s also been 20 years since I have been back to Dallas.

Starting with the family, it is awesome to try and get to know the various relatives, I had only seen some of them before when they were babies. Now they have babies of their own.

I spent most of the day with them. After I left their house I came back to the hotel to drop a few things off and I decided that I wanted to take a few minutes and drive over to Dallas and see if I could recognize anything. I also wanted to take a few evening shots using the drone of the skyline.

As usual when I plan something like this everything does not go as planned. I managed to find a save location to put the drone of for a quick few shots, got ATC clearance as I was in controlled air space, got the drone up to about 200′ headed to my max flight plan of 400′ and sure as shit I suddenly realized that somehow I was given approval right near a flight path for Love Field. Yup, I got a few shots as I was landing the drone. I am sure ATC would not have put anyone in an unsafe situation but it was way too close for my comfort level.

So, enjoy a few of the shots I got in my less than 5 minutes in the air.

Got a panoramic shot in the process as well.

Headed back to the hotel, it’s late, I want some sleep, and some popcorn.

Good Night and Talk with you tomorrow.
